PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant microorganism which enables high production of dipicolinic acid.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a Bacillus subtilis mutant which has a genome in which one or more regions selected from the group consisting of a prophage 6 region, prophage 1 region, prophage 4 region, PBSX region, prophage 5 region, prophage 3 region, spb region, pks region, skin region, pps region, prophage 2 region, ydcL-ydeK-ydhU region, yisB-yitD region, yunA-yurT region, cgeE-ypmQ region, yeeK-yesX region, pdp-rocR region, ycxB-sipU region, SKIN-Pro 7 region, sbo-ywhH region, yybP-yyaJ region, and yncM-fosB region are deleted, wherein an expression of Bacillus subtilis dipicolinic acid synthase gene or corresponding genes to this are enhanced, and at least one gene selected from the group consisting of Bacillus subtilis alpha acetolactate synthase gene alsS and Bacillus subtilis alpha acetolactate dehydrogenase gene alsD is deleted or inactivated.
