PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which prevents a deviation of a conveyor belt due to non-uniform placement of transported articles for a long period of time, increases an operation rate of a belt conveyor, and achieves stable operation, and a method.SOLUTION: A deviation preventing device of a conveyor belt comprises a connection chute 3 for forming a passage to make a transported article discharged from an outlet side of an upstream side belt conveyor 1 fall and to introduce to a downstream side belt conveyor. A flow regulating plate 4 for changing a falling trajectory by hitting the transported article immediately after the discharge is provided above the connection chute 3, and a pair of guiding plates 5a, 5b which are arranged in a width direction of a conveyor belt of the downstream side belt conveyor 2 and guide the transported article whose falling trajectory has been changed onto the conveyor belt of the downstream side belt conveyor 2 through an opening 6 formed between the guiding plates are provided below the connection chute.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
