PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation method for an aquatic animal and a method for shortening a culture period in a closed water system of a still water or water exchanging type which is economical, safe, and efficient and uses a microbial preparation.SOLUTION: An aquatic animal cultivation method and a culture period shortening method is characterized in that a microbial preparation which is mainly composed of dry granules obtained by fermenting a natural plant with a single fungus of hay bacillus, and has a number of bacterial cells of 1×10/g or more and an average particle diameter of 0.8 mm or less is introduced into a closed water stream at a ratio of 0.1 to 10 Kg for water of 1000 m, and said aquatic animal is cultivated while aerating the closed water stream.SELECTED DRAWING: None
