PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marker capable of preventing decrease of recognition rate of markers due to influences of shadows and/or illumination, and a method of preventing decrease of recognition rate of markers.SOLUTION: Disclosed marker is used in an augmented reality (AR) technology of a marker type vision base method. The marker includes: a mark plane in which a pre-registered constituted of a single or a combination of a plurality of geometric patterns; and a shade abutting on the mark surface so as not to come into contact with the mark which covers entire of the mark with own shadow to shade light from a light source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
