Gas fuel engine and method for stopping gas fuel engine

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and immediately stop operation when an abnormality occurs in a fuel supply valve and reduce emissions of unburnt gas as much as possible in a gas engine.SOLUTION: A gas fuel engine includes: an ignition device; a fuel supply valve; a valve closing monitoring device for detecting an abnormality of a valve closing operation of the fuel supply valve; a misfire detection device for detecting misfire in a cylinder; and a control device for performing processing to stop the gas fuel engine, when the valve closing monitoring device detects the abnormality of the valve closing operation and the misfire detection device detects misfire within a predetermined period from the occurrence of the abnormality of the valve closing operation. This enables the stopping processing to be performed immediately if necessary without wrong detection even on the basis of an abnormality signal of one valve closing operation. Thus, the operation can be stopped safely and immediately and emissions of unburnt gas can be reduced as much as possible.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
