PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clinostat for undifferentiation-maintaining culture and differentiation-promoting culture.SOLUTION: A clinostat 100 has: a rotating x rotary shaft 2 which has a hollow having an axial center in x direction; an x rotor 1 attached to the x rotary shaft 22; a rotating y rotary shaft 4 which is attached to the x rotor 1 and has an axial center in a y direction; a y rotor 3 which is attached to the y rotary shaft 4 and houses culture vessels 30; a rotary main shaft which is arranged in the hollow of the x rotary shaft 2 and rotated by a rotational driving device 22; and a rotation transmitting mechanism which transmits torque of the rotary main shaft to the y rotary shaft. A clutch between the rotary main shaft and the x rotary shaft 2 disconnects transmission of the torque of the rotary main shaft to the x rotary shaft 2 by changing a rotation direction of the rotary main shaft or increasing rotational speed. A control device 200 switches an operation mode of undifferentiation-maintaining culture or an operation mode of differentiation-promoting culture by controlling the rotation of the rotational driving device 22.
