PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and inexpensively detect a barrier in a passing place.SOLUTION: A barrier detection device includes: input means for inputting operation information including continuous operation contents of a vehicle; storage means for storing a barrier countermeasure operation dictionary where a barrier countermeasure operation being a continuous operation with respect to a barrier as a passing obstacle of a vehicle is associated with barrier contents; and output means for comparing input operation information with a barrier countermeasure operation dictionary, detecting a barrier countermeasure operation corresponding to the continuous operation contents indicated by the input operation information, and outputting barrier information including the barrier contents associated with the barrier countermeasure operation in the barrier countermeasure operation dictionary.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
