An object of the present invention is to reliably suppress and prevent deterioration of start characteristics of a fuel injection valve at engine start caused by sludge. When a vehicle is started, non-injection energization is performed on fuel injection valves 2-1 to 2-n (S102), the valve closing time at that time is measured (S104), and the valve closing time is within a predetermined range. If it exceeds (S106), the fuel injection valves 2-1 to 2-n are determined based on the energization conditions corrected until the engine speed exceeds the predetermined speed as a cause of a decrease in the starting state of the engine 3. On the other hand, energization control is performed (S110, S112), and a decrease in startability at the time of engine start is suppressed and prevented.
