Compounds having drug properties that may affect biology, their pharmaceutical compositions and methods of use are presented. in particular modified c-3 betulinic acid and other structurally related natural product derivatives having unique antiviral activity are provided as inhibitors of hiv maturation. These compounds are useful for the treatment of HIV and AIDS.
