Method for generating a monoclonal plant cell line from a heterogeneous plant cell population The invention provides a method for generating a monoclonal plant cell line from a heterologous plant cell population, comprising the following steps: (a) providing a heterologous plant cell population; (b) preparing protoplasts from said heterologous plant cell population; (c) separation of single protoplasts subjecting protoplast preparation to flow cytometric classification; (d) regeneration of a single transformed transformed protoplast until formation of a micro-colony by co-culture in the presence of feeder cellular material; (e) microcolony removal from feeder cell material and culture of the micro-colony until formation of a monoclonal plant cell line.
