The present invention involves a seed tamping device with a pusher attachment extending the life of the seed tamping device. The seed tamping device provides a replaceable tip or end to extend the life of the tamping device, generally having two wear-degrading components, the flexible arm and the built-in impeller. The flexible arm generally lasts much longer than the embedded impeller portion because the impeller wears against the ground and finally wears out completely. Embodiments of the invention include a portion of the built-in impeller having a stop and a guide for accepting a replaceable extender. other embodiments include a portion of the built-in impeller that engages the rest of the presser arm. thus, the worn-out portion of the tamping device can easily be replaced, which extends the life of the tamping device multiple times over the life of the flexible arm.
