This patent application deals with the production of a composite from machining waste of the aluminum alloy in the form of chips by the powder metallurgy route via high energy carbide milling. The discarded material from the alloy machining process is reused for high energy carbide milling, where dust from this submicron and nanometric size is obtained. After the characterization of the powders, through optical and scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction and particle size analysis, the material is then compacted in a uniaxial press to be synthesized. In the sintering process, the obtained samples are again characterized to evaluate their mechanical properties, density and porosity.
