sugarcane pscatpg promoter and its use for modulation of gene transcription in plants. The present invention describes a sugarcane promoter for regulating gene expression in plants, which was called the pscatpg promoter. more specifically, the technology relates to the use of the pscatpg promoter for activating nucleotide sequence expression in monocotyledon and dicotyledonous plants, especially in green tissues. the DNA fragment, nucleotide sequence comprising 1018 base pairs, was cloned upstream of the gus reporter gene in plasmid phgwfs7 and evaluated by transient transformation into sugarcane callus and benthamian nicotiana leaves. callus and leaf reporter gene activation evidenced by histochemical analysis validated pscatpg promoter activity for biotechnological purposes.
