A bulk supply of a textile protective sleeve and method of construction and supply thereof is provided. The sleeve includes a braided tubular wall that extends longitudinally along a central longitudinal axis between opposite ends. the wall has a first lengthened decreased cross-sectional area state and a second lengthened reduced cross-sectional area state. The wall has braided, thermoset wires which cause the wall to remain substantially in the first and second states without any externally applied force. The wall is trimmed to a finish, with a bulk delivery shipping length extending between opposite ends, and is configured to be further cut to a plurality of discrete lengths of use after shipment.
