The present invention relates to automated rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing systems for performing a multiple assay test sequence which may include an automated incubation structure having a snap-in assembly adapted to house at least one test panel having a a plurality of reservoirs for receiving a sample comprising microorganisms originating from a clinical sample, the incubation structure facilitating the incubation of one or more test panels to pass the multiple assay test sequence; a robotic manipulation frame configured to accept one or more input test panels and move them to and from the incubation frame for incubation between each assay of the multiple assay test sequence; an automated liquid handling structure configured to exchange one or more fluids in the plurality of test panel reservoirs; and an optical assembly for interrogating and reading each test of the multiple test test sequence that is performed on the plurality of reservoirs.
