a directional well drilling apparatus is disclosed where, in a non-limiting embodiment, it includes a drill turning actuator, a deflection device that allows a lower section of a drilling assembly to tilt within a selected plane when the drill set is substantially rotationally stationary to allow drilling of a bent section of the well when the drill is rotated by the driver and where the inclination is reduced when the drill set is rotated to allow drilling of a straight section of the well and a sensor that provides measurements relating one direction of the drill set to drill the well along a desired direction.
