N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes of gold in oxidation stage + I with deprotonated bicyclic monodentate coordinating donor ligands of general formula [Au (NHC) (L)], represented by the structural formula, wherein the symbol represents the N1-deprotonated 7-azaindole derivative to a gold atom through the N 1 nitrogen atom or an N9-deprotonated-purine derivative of the structural formula bound to the gold atom through the N 9 nitrogen atom wherein the group represents a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom selected from fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine; the group represents a sulfur atom or an NH group; the substituent is hydrogen or a branched or unbranched hydrocarbon chain of 1 to 6 carbon atoms; the substituent is hydrogen or fluorine or trifluoromethyl; and the crystal solvates of the gold complexes of the structural formula whose composition is represented by the formula [Au (NHC) (L)] ×, where n denotes a number of crystal solvate molecules of 1 to 2, and Solv is an organic molecule selected from water, primary alcohol, secondary an alcohol, hexane, acetone, dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, ethyl acetate, dichloromethane, acetonitrile or diethyl ether, either alone or in combination of the solvate molecules.
