The technical solution relates to dentistry, in particular orthodontics. The technical result is the creation of an individual 3D model of the jaw of the patient, containing exact models of each tooth, allowing to simulate the movement of crowns and roots, providing analysis of the movement of each tooth for the manufacture of individual caps for the movement of patients' teeth. A computer-implemented method for constructing a tooth model, comprising the steps of receiving patient data, which includes a digital 3D model of the crowns of the teeth and the adjacent gingiva, and a computerized tomogram (CT) of the oral cavity; the area with the jaw is automatically allocated to the CT scan, and the teeth are segmented with the roots as follows: groups of pixels characterizing the roots of the teeth are detected on the tomogram; form from the identified pixels characterizing the mentioned roots of the teeth, the image of the root system of the upper and lower jaw; perform automatic marking of teeth on the resulting image of the root system and get digital 3D models of the roots of each tooth separately, as well as at least 3D models of bone and soft tissue; get a 3D tooth model by combining the root model and the corresponding crown, form a 3D model of the jaw based on the obtained 3D tooth models and at least 3D bone and soft tissue models.
