The invention relates to the control of the course of corrosion processes and can be used for continuous monitoring of pitting corrosion and its penetration into the inner walls of metal structures in contact with electrically conductive corrosion environments in conditions where it is impossible to avoid the development of pitting corrosion. The method consists in preliminary anodic activation of the indicator electrode made of the material of the inner wall of the structure, followed by synchronous disconnection of the electrode from the DC source and connecting it to the wall through a current-measuring device. In this case, the control is carried out by the current value in the "wall - indicator electrode" circuit. The device consists of an auxiliary electrode and sensors, each of which contains control and indicator electrodes. The latter have in advance smaller and different thicknesses between themselves than the wall. The elements of the sensors by means of blocks of synchronous switches, a voltmeter and a current-measuring device are electrically connected to the wall and the auxiliary electrode. The technical result of the invention is its multifunctionality, which allows to continuously determine the kinetics of the development of the corrosion process, the degree of its danger and establish the practical life of the metal structure.
