Pasteurized bacteria Akkermansia muciniphila or their fragments for the treatment of metabolic disorders in a subject in need are described. Also described are a composition, a pharmaceutical composition, and a drug containing pasteurized Akkermansia muciniphila bacteria or fragments thereof for the treatment of a metabolic disorder.
