The present invention relates to a drip-forming aqueous coating compound, in particular a dispersion coating compound, containing at least one inorganic water-soluble binder or at least one organic binder that is in particular dispersed or dispersible in water or and emulsifiable or emulsified in water, at least one filling material and/or at least one pigment, and water, which has a rheological profile involving a strongly reduced tendency to form spray during application with the paint roller. The invention further relates to a paint produced with the coating compound according to the invention. In addition, the invention relates to a testing device for determining the spray behaviour of drip-forming aqueous coating compounds, and to a method for determining the spray behaviour during the application of drip-forming, aqueous, in particular flowable, coating compounds using a paint roller.
