With the constant, a direct calculation can be obtained avoiding all the mathematical development and balance of traditional matter and find the pressure drop, knowing the packing factor. This value also provides the actual loads that a given column could have knowing its dimensions, height and diameter. Therefore, this constant can be used in the design of any packed tower and in columns in operation for the determination of reasonable operating flows for industrial applications.
