The present invention relates to a magnetic nanocomposite, a method for the synthesis of said nanocomposite and a method for cleaning bodies of water contaminated with crude oil or oils spilled therein by a magnetic nanocomposite. It discloses a nanocomposite synthesis process by a precipitation method or process that is completely different from traditional methods for obtaining this type of nanocomposites. The invention also relates to the use of said nanocomposite to clean transformers and to adsorb different dyes, the production of the nanocomposite being more economical than currently known.
