The invention relates to a method for surface modification with nanocomposites containing metallic nanoparticles and boron compounds, characterised in that the selected solid substance comprising the surface to be modified is placed in a colloidal solution of metallic nanoparticles stabilised with boron compounds, preferably oxoborates, and subsequently the oxoborates are polymerised/condensed by induction of a pH change by adding an acid or a base, or by addition of bivalent or trivalent metal salts, in particular Mg, Ca, Cu, Fe, Cr, Au, Hg, or Pb salts, which results in formation of nanocomposites from metallic nanoparticles and polyoxoborates adsorbed on the material used. In addition, the invention comprises a nanocomposite material obtained with the aforementioned method, characterised in that it comprises metal nanoparticles embedded in a polyoxoborate matrix, whereas the surface of at least some of these nanoparticles is exposed. The invention relates to the use of the aforementioned material in fabrication of antiseptic surfaces and in fabrication of surfaces intended for use in cultivation of mammalian cells.
