The mode of cooling of the overhead contact cable is characterised b y the liquid methane cooling factor of the overhead contact wire. A superconducting transmission cable containing a superconductor, housing,a cooling, electrical and thermal duct shall be characterised by at least one superconductor vein (1),with liquid methane (4) compressed by a pressure tube (3) in the refrigerator,whose transverse cross -section area is several times greater than the transverse cross -section area of all cable veins together with their superconducting (1) casings (2) and their electrical insulations (6).
