摘要
QuickSIN test presents a comparative method for assessing hearing impairment. Hearing comparison is based upon keyword perception in test sentences which are masked with babble-type of noise. One's degree of hearing impairment is estimated based on the number of correctly perceived keywords, compared to the person with perfect hearing. The essential parameter during the creation of QuickSIN stimulus sentences is SNR50% (207, 208 and 210), which represents the ratio between speech and noise levels at which the person with perfect hearing perceives 50% of the keywords. Stimulus sentences (215) are obtained after mixing (214) test sentences (204) and noise (213) in a particularly defined energy ratio (SNR). The noise level used for masking of the test sentences (213) depends on the test sentence position in the list, and also on the SNR50%. In order to achieve good keyword perception balance, noise level needs to be adjusted in time, energy, and spectral domains compared to the test sentences (212). After that, the overall test sentence level is set according to both the position of the stimulus sentence in the list, and the SNR50% value (213).
