Method of controlling the soft switchable indirect DC converter with the secondary controlled rectifier in the node or bridge connection is characterised by that the secondary switches (15) and (16) are switched off sooner than the semiconductor switches (1), (2) and (3), (4) in the inventor, thereby reducing the secondary current of the transformer (8) to zero and thus the primary current to the magnetizing current value. If only one secondary switch (15) is used in the secondary rectifier, then it has a double switching frequency as the semiconductor switches (1), (2) and (3), (4) in the inventor.
