Medicinal compositions or preparations or drugs for the treatment of disorders of the respiratory system such as the nasal-nasopharyngeal area. The preparation may include a carrier, between about 0.8% and 59% by weight/volume of a medicament selected from the group consisting of sugar monomers of the aldohexose series of carbohydrates; and a pharmaceutically effective amount of an antimicrobial preservative.
