MICROCONTROLLER BASED FIRE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEM

A fire detection and alarm system has been developed that can detect the presence of fire and smoke in the earlier stage to avoid false alarm. The system is capable of producing an audible alarm using a buzzer and a visual indicator using a Light Emitting Diode (LED). A distress message can be displayed using the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) as well as can be transmitted to the registered user using Short Message Service (SMS). Such system is also capable of putting off the fire using water as the extinguishing agent. The release of the extinguishing agent can be controlled using the sprinkler mechanism as controlled by the DC motor assembly.
