Isolated or purified T cell receptor (TCR) comprising (a) an alpha chain comprising the amino acid sequences of all SEQ ID NO: 5-7, and a beta chain comprising the amino acid sequences of all SEQ ID NO: 8-10; or (b) an alpha chain comprising the amino acid sequences of all SEQ ID NO: 16-18, and a beta chain comprising the amino acid sequences of all SEQ ID NO: 19-21, in which the TCR has antigenic specificity for (MAGE A) -3 of the family A of melanoma antigens in the context of HLA-A1, preferably in which (a) the isolated or purified TCR has antigenic specificity for an MAGE-A3 epitope comprising EVDPIGHLY (SEQ ID NO: 2); (b) the isolated or purified TCR comprises the amino acid sequences of (i) both of SEQ ID NO: 11 and 12, or (ii) both of SEQ ID NO: 22 and 23; or (c) the isolated or purified TCR comprises the amino acid sequences of (i) both of SEQ ID NO: 13 and 14, or (ii) both of SEQ ID NO: 24 and 25.
