A method to improve corn drought stress tolerance comprising the application of 0.9 to 33 grams per hectare of gibberellin 3 to corn during the V2-V6 growth stage of corn and when corn growth is not limited by a lack of soil moisture and in which the intolerance to drought stress is improved later in the growing season than with the application of gibberellin 3.
