Method comprising: receiving, from a first device, a first human biological characteristic file of a particular identity as a base file; receiving, from a second device, a request for an identity authentication corresponding to the particular identity, the request being associated with a second human biological characteristic file of a person requesting identity authentication or a corresponding first characteristic code to a human biological characteristic of the person requesting identity authentication, in which the first device and the second device use different collection algorithms to collect a characteristic code from a human biological characteristic file; obtain the first characteristic code from the second human biological characteristic file of the person requesting identity authentication or from the second device; determine a collection algorithm corresponding to the second device; collect a second feature code from the base file using the collection algorithm corresponding to the second device; determine whether the second characteristic code and the first characteristic code correspond to the same human biological characteristic; and verify the request for identity authentication in response to the determination that the second characteristic code and the first characteristic code correspond to the same human biological characteristic.
