In a method and a device for controlling the electrical variables and/or theLLM currentsof LLM coils of an LLM stator, relating to compact transport units and reducedmutualinfluence of the two transport units, movement of the first transport unit iscontrolledby an associated first transport controller. Movement of the second transportunit iscontrolled by an associated second transport controller, a control unit checkswhetherthe first transport controller intends to specify a first controlled variablefor an LLM coiland whether the second transport controller simultaneously intends to specifyasecond controlled variable to the same LLM coil and, in this case, either anadditionalcontrolled variable, which is derived from the first controlled variableand/or the secondcontrolled variable using a predetermined function f, is specified for the LLMcoil, orthe coil terminals of the LLM coil are short-circuited.
