The present invention discloses a metformin hydrochloride/berberine hydrochloride compound sustained-release suspension preparation and a preparation method therefor. The compound sustained-release suspension preparation is mainly prepared from a cation exchange resin, metformin hydrochloride, berberine hydrochloride, an impregnating agent, a plasticizer, a suspending aid, and other excipients. Compared with the prior art, the metformin hydrochloride/berberine hydrochloride compound sustained-release suspension preparation obtained by the present invention is convenient to administer, and can be administered in divided doses, thereby resolving the problem of difficulty for a patient in swallowing oral solid sustained-release preparations prepared from large-dose drugs. The present invention creates a multi-unit drug release system in which a release behavior is the sum of individual microparticle drug release behaviors, achieving better reproducibility and consistency, and avoiding a situation in which oral solid sustained-release preparations are prone to cause excessive local concentrations after fragmentation.
