A lighting box in this under-handrail device of a passenger conveyor has a ceiling part and a pair of side surface parts that protrude downward from the ceiling part and that face each other, and is provided with an opening in a lower portion thereof. A lighting holder for holding a lighting fixture is mounted inside the lighting box. The lighting holder has an elastic deformation part. In addition, the lighting holder is pressed against the pair of side surface parts by causing elastic deformation of the elastic deformation part, and is thereby held inside the lighting box.
