Provided is a method for preparing an oil-soluble tungsten disulfide nanosheet, comprising: by using tungsten hexachloride as a tungsten source, and thioacetamide and thiourea as active sulfur sources, conducting a constant-temperature reaction at 100-200°C for 60 minutes or more in the presence of a surface modifier, wherein the surface modifier is at least one of straight-chain or branched-chain fatty acid or fatty amine of which the number of carbon atoms is 6-40. By means of the method, no ion needing to be removed is introduced into a reaction system, and no toxic pollutant is discharged; the synthesis process temperature is low; the prepared oil-soluble tungsten disulfide nanosheet has uniform particle size, good oil dissolubility, and a wide application prospect in the fields of lubricating oil nano-additives, etc.
