The present invention relates to methods and devices for reducing simulation sickness in VR systems and applications and in particular to teleportation inside a virtual world, while the user can see the entire VR world. Solutions are proposed making use of 3D graphics where a ghost of the user's avatar is displayed moving in natural speed towards the user selected destination of teleportation while the user is watching it from his original position. Realism and minimization of simulation sickness are also enhanced by simultaneously displaying the entire VR world alongside the ghost,also in natural speed of motion,and allowing the user to look towards any location in the VR world. The invention also supports user interrupts to the teleportation operation and can be used, among other VR applications, in VR soccer simulators.
