Disclosed are a sleep monitoring method, device, and a wearable apparatus, the method comprising: calculating an effective data rate of sampling data of a PPG module on the basis of a current sampling rate (101); determining whether or not the effective data rate is less than a preset threshold to obtain a first determination result (102); if the first determination result indicates that the effective data rate is not less than the preset threshold, calculating, according to a current power consumption rate of a terminal apparatus and a current power level of a power supply module (10), a predicted standby time of the terminal apparatus (103); determining whether or not the predicted standby time is less than an expected standby time to obtain a second determination result (104); and if the second determination result indicates that the predicted standby time is less than the expected standby time, reducing a sampling rate of the PPG module until the effective data rate of sampling data, following the reduction in the sampling rate of the PPG module, is not less than the preset threshold, and the predicted standby time is not less than the expected standby time (105). The method can be used to guarantee monitoring accuracy for a sleep state of a user and extend a standby time of the terminal apparatus.
