Disclosed are an upgrade method and apparatus for a vehicle-mounted communication device, and a vehicle-mounted communication device. The upgrade method for a vehicle-mounted communication device in the embodiments of the present invention comprises: after backing up data information in a micro control unit (MCU) to a modem, upgrading the MCU; after the upgrade of the MCU is completed, restoring the data information, backed up to the modem, to the MCU. The embodiments of the present invention solve the problem in the prior art that in the process of upgrading a vehicle-mounted communication (TBox) device, since a configuration parameter and historical data in an MCU needs to be imported and exported manually, the upgrade operation for the TBox device is complicated, and the intelligence of the upgrade approach is poor.
