A novel fiber optic catheter and a preparation method therefor. A cavity (1) for transmitting a liquid or a gas and a fiber core layer (2) for transmitting light are disposed in the fiber optic catheter. A hemispherical or conical cover (8) is disposed on the top end of the fiber optic catheter, and the cover (8) is a transparent cover (8). Multiple through holes (81) capable of releasing drugs and light energy are disposed in the cover (8). In the fiber optic catheter, fibers are pressed and embedded into a polymer layer (5) by means of a diameter change feature of a memory metal hypotube. In the fiber optic catheter, a drug can be transported through the cavity (1), and light is transmitted by means of the fiber core layer (2) with a high refractive index, the overall body of the fiber optic catheter can be bent and rotated, the drug can be directly transported to the position of a lesion through a blood vessel and other tiny pipelines, thereby facilitating the photodynamic therapy of tumors.
