A laser device (1) comprises: a light source (2) having a plurality of laser diodes (21); a driving current peak holding unit (52) that holds the maximum value within a prescribed period of a driving current applied to the plurality of laser diodes (21); a light power peak holding unit (53) that holds the maximum value within a prescribed period of the power of the light emitted from the light source (2); a memory (56) that stores the relationship among the magnitude of the driving current, the magnitude of the light power, and the degree of deterioration of the light source (2); and a degree of deterioration estimating unit (54) that refers to the memory (56) to estimate the degree of deterioration from the maximum value within the prescribed period of the driving current held by the driving current peak holding unit (52) and the maximum value within the prescribed period of the light power held by the light power peak holding unit (53).
