Disclosed is an air gesture recognition method based on photoelectric induction. The method comprises the following steps: collecting an air gesture image by means of photoelectric induction; processing and analyzing the gesture image, so as to complete gesture recognition; and outputting a corresponding operation indication to a terminal device. An air gesture recognition control apparatus based on photoelectric induction, comprising: an image collection module, an image processing module, an MCU and an infrared light-emitting diode, wherein an output end of the image collection module is connected to an input end of the image processing module, and an output end of the image processing module is connected to an input end of the MCU. The present invention realizes a contactless human-computer interaction mode for the application of air gesture recognition and control, thereby eliminating tedious configurations and complex processes during human-computer interaction, reducing the interference of external environmental factors, improving the detection sensitivity, improving the user experience, and enhancing the practicality and reliability of air gesture recognition and processing. The present invention is widely applicable in the field of human-computer interaction.
