Disclosed are a method for operating pictures at different levels, comprising the following steps: acquiring a first picture selected by a user on an interface, wherein pictures displayed on the interface are configured with selection boxes; judging whether on the interface there is a second picture which is located at a layer lower than the first picture and is completely covered by the first image; if so, decreasing the transparency of the first picture so as to visibly display the second picture while visibly displaying a first selection box configured for the first picture and a second selection box configured for the second picture, so that a user can operate the first picture by the first selection box and operate the second picture by the second selection box. Also provided are an apparatus for operating pictures at different levels, a terminal device and a computer storage medium. Pictures covering each other can be operated without changing the picture level, solving the problem of it being difficult to operate pictures at different levels covering each other.
