The invention relates to a series resonant power-converting device for electrochemical stored energy sources, comprising a series resonant unit containing a resonant inductor and a resonant capacitor arranged in series with said resonant inductor, a transmission ratio being formed from a quotient between an output voltage and an input voltage of the series resonant unit, and comprising at least one switching unit associated with the series resonant unit, the series resonant unit being able to be controlled in such a way that, on the one hand, the output voltage is switched alternately to a positive voltage value and to a negative value during a first time interval corresponding to a half of the resonance period duration or to a multiple of half of the resonance period duration of the resonant elements of the series resonant unit and the output voltage is switched to zero for a number of halves of the resonance period duration in a second time interval such that a voltage transmission ratio of the series resonant unit of greater than one is formed, and/or, on the other hand, the input voltage is switched alternately to a positive voltage value and to a negative value during the first time interval corresponding to a half of the resonance period duration or to a multiple of half of the resonance period duration of the resonant elements of the series resonant unit and the input voltage is switched to zero for a number of halves of the resonance period duration in a second time interval such that a voltage transmission ratio of the series resonant unit of less than one is formed.
