The invention relates to a resource management system to be implemented at hospitality premises, as well as to a resource management method using said system. For this purpose, the invention involves the use of a range of information captured from codes located on or associated with each table, said codes comprising data referring to the table, such as the location or relative position of the table, the capacity of the table or other data that may be of interest in the application environment in which the system of the invention is implemented. The aforementioned data, to which order and payment data are added, allow the premises to be managed autonomously.
