A device according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: optical mechanisms for causing light from a light source to be guided to and scanned along tissue of skin; a control/calculation unit which controls the driving of the optical mechanisms, acquires tomographic images of the skin by processing optical interference signals from an optical system, and calculates a vascular plexus on the basis of the tomographic images; and a display device for displaying an image of the vascular plexus. The control/calculation unit expresses thickness in the vascular plexus by superimposing, on the image of the vascular plexus, an identification display based on the sizes of blood vessel radii r at coordinates corresponding to each blood vessel, when the blood vessel radius r refers to the radius required to cause the coordinates corresponding to one blood vessel to reach the periphery, with the coordinates corresponding to another blood vessel identified as a blood vessel during calculation of the vascular plexus at the centre.
