A sequence circuit 1 comprises: a detection unit (2) that detects the occurrence of an event on the basis of an input signal; an acceptance unit (4) that accepts the event the occurrence of which has been detected by the detection unit; a prohibition unit (4) that, with the acceptance of the one event by the acceptance unit as a trigger, prohibits the acceptance of another event by the acceptance unit for a first period; a clock pulse generation unit (3) that generates one or more clock pulses during a period from the start of the first period to the end of the first period after a lapse of a second period shorter than the first period; a determination unit (5) that determines a next state from a present state and the event accepted by the acceptance unit; and a latch unit (6) that latches the next state using the clock pulse. The output of the latch unit is the present state.
