Disclosed in the present invention is a CloudStack cloud platform-based method for monitoring a virtual machine, comprising: deploying a virtual machine monitoring platform and configuring a monitoring program; scanning a proxy service program; determine whether the proxy service program is in an active state; calling the proxy service program to acquire details for a host and a virtual machine if the proxy service program is in an active state; determine the type of proxy service program; correspondingly acquiring monitoring information of the virtual machine according to the type of the proxy service program; matching the monitoring information of the virtual machine with the details of the virtual machine; and building a chart for the data by means of the monitoring program and providing a web access interface. Advantageously, the CloudStack cloud platform-based method for monitoring a virtual machine according to the embodiments of the present invention may make up for insufficient monitoring of a virtual machine by existing CloudStack cloud platforms, thereby effectively monitoring the CloudStack cloud platform in the form of a webpage access interface, thus managing and using resources more fully.
