Disclosed in the present invention are a method for sharing a media data file with a third party by a vehicle-mounted system, and the vehicle-mounted system. The method for sharing a media data file with a third party by a vehicle-mounted system comprises: receiving an access request instruction initiated by a third party; determining whether the third party is an authorized third party according to the access request instruction; if yes, establishing a data connection with the third party; and sharing a media data file with the third party. In the vehicle-mounted system in the present invention, an access request instruction is sent by means of a third party, and access to the vehicle-mounted system is started; data provided by the vehicle-mounted system cannot be shared among different kinds of third parties, and corresponding media data can be obtained from the vehicle-mounted system only, thereby improving the controllability of a vehicle-mounted system provider for provision of media data.
