The present invention provides: a lithium vanadium oxide crystalline body capable of achieving superior electrochemical properties; and a use thereof. This novel lithium vanadium oxide crystalline body has a crystal structure in which cations are in disorder. The crystal structure represented by the result of X-ray diffraction exhibits a peak for the incidence angle 2θ in the vicinity of 32.2 degrees. In an angular range lower than the peak in the vicinity of 32.2 degrees, either no peaks are present or, even if there are peaks, the diffraction intensities of all of the peaks found in the angular range lower than the peak in the vicinity of 32.2 degrees are less than that of the peak in the vicinity of 32.2 degrees.
